MSc Physician Associate Studies

The Physician Associate Studies course offered at Canterbury Christ Church University is a two-year full-time program that prepares students for a career as a Physician Associate in the National Health Service (NHS). The program is structured to provide a broad knowledge of the principles and practices required for safe, patient-centered clinical decision-making, intervention and care.Course Content: The course curriculum is divided into four main content areas: Medical Science, Clinical and Communication Skills, Personal and Professional Development, and Clinical Reasoning and Decision-Making. The course includes a mixture of clinical placement and campus-based teaching. The students, under supervision, will also be involved in direct patient care in various placements. Key Modules: The key modules of study include Basics of Medical Science, Integrating Medical Science, Developing Personal and Professional Skills in PA Practice, Developing Clinical and Communication skills, and Clinical Reasoning and Decision-making.Accreditations: The course is approved by the Faculty of Physician Associates at the Royal College of Physicians. Future Careers: Upon successful completion of this course, graduates will be ready to work primarily in General Practices and Acute Internal Medicine.
