BSc (Hons) Politics

The Politics course at Canterbury Christ Church University is a three-year undergraduate program. Available as either a full-time or part-time option, students will explore the essential theories and methodologies of political science. The course allows students to understand the dynamics of power, political activity, and government policies while honing their analytical, communication, and research skills.Course Content: In the first year, students will gain a foundational understanding of the discipline by engaging with subjects like Democracy and Political Ideas, Comparative Politics, and International Relations. The following years provide opportunities to specialise in areas of interest including political theory, European politics, British politics, foreign policies, politics of the Middle East, American politics, and politics of developing states. Key Modules: Some of the key modules in the course are Democracy and Political Ideas, Comparative Politics, International Relations, Political Theory: Justice, Freedom, Power, and Understanding the European Union.Accreditations: This course does not mention specific accreditations.Future Careers: Graduating from this course prepares students for careers in a variety of fields such as civil service, journalism, NGO work, teaching, politics, and public relations, among others.
