BSc (Hons) Plant Science

The Plant Science course at Canterbury Christ Church University gives students comprehensive understanding and skills in plant biology, ecology, climate change and conservation. Students are equipped with the knowledge needed to tackle pressing global issues such as food security, biodiversity loss and climate change.Course Content: Throughout the course, students will gain an understanding of plant biology, ecology, evolution, plant physiology and biochemistry. The course will also delve into the applied aspects of plant science such as plant biotechnology and the role plants play in nature conservation. Through field and laboratory work, students will hone their skills in scientific investigation and critical analysis.Key Modules: The course is divided into various modules such as Biodiversity and Evolution, Plant Physiology and Biochemistry, Ecology and Conservation, Scientific Techniques and Data Analysis, Applied Plant Science and a Research Project.Future Careers: Graduates of the Plant Science course can pursue a wide range of careers in sectors including environmental consultancy, conservation and land management, agri-science and research.
