BSc (Hons) Physiotherapy

The Physiotherapy (Pre-registration) MSc course offered by Canterbury Christ Church University is a two-year, full-time program that trains students to be competent, considerate, and confident in their ability to work with patients and carers. The program draws on experiences of the teaching team who are professionally qualified practitioners and/or experienced academics. It offers an innovative integration of the theoretical, academic, and clinical elements essential for working within the complex and evolving field of physiotherapy.Course Content: The program focuses on several critical learning areas including anatomy, physiology, and assessment which runs alongside the developing person and physiotherapy practice module during the first semester. In the second semester, the focus is on research methods and evidence-based practice, alongside the neuro-musculoskeletal physiotherapy module. In the final part of the course, students undertake a 12-week research project and a 5-week internship to enhance their experience and skills.Key Modules: Some of the key modules include Musculoskeletal Physiotherapy, Neurorehabilitation, Physiotherapy in Acute Care, Cardiorespiratory Physiotherapy, and Research Methods.Accreditations: This course is accredited by the Chartered Society of Physiotherapy (CSP) and approved by the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC).Future Careers: Upon successful completion of this course, students qualify as a physiotherapist and are eligible to apply for registration with the Health and Care Professions Council and membership of the Chartered Society of Physiotherapy.
