The Geography course at Canterbury Christ Church University offers an extensive study of our natural world, its landscapes, lifeforms and phenomena. You will explore issues of environmental change, sustainability and their social implications and engage in extensive fieldwork in local and distant places. Learn to communicate ideas, principles, and theories effectively by oral, written, and visual means.Course Content: This course spans across different subjects like physical and human geography, development and geopolitics, and cartographic sciences, which combines traditional and digital technologies. Students will engage in discussions about environmental sustainability, disasters, risk and resilience, population change, urbanisation, landscape evolution, biodiversity conservation, and global development. Field trips are integral to the course and have previously included residential trips to France, Spain, Snowdonia, and New York.Key Modules: The course offers several key modules which include Understanding Geographies, Geography in the Field, Society and Space, Environment, Culture & Society, and Environments Past and Present.Accreditations: The course is accredited by the Royal Geographical Society (with IBG).
