The MSc Diagnostic Radiography and Imaging course, offered by the University of Hertfordshire, is aimed at those with relevant prior degrees and healthcare experience who wish to venture into Diagnostic Radiography. This course provides students with a comprehensive education and training in modern radiographic imaging.Course Content: This full-time, two-year course breeds an advanced radiographer who is autonomous, critical, reflective, and research-aware. The course covers a wide area ranging from diagnostic radiology and imaging modalities to academic study and research. The first year of the course involves a blend of theoretical and practice-based modules culminating in a clinical placement. The second year provides in-depth exposure to practice settings and specific imaging modalities.Key Modules: There are essential modules in this course which includes Clinical Skills for Radiographic Practice, Foundations of Diagnostic Radiography, Imaging and Pathology in Practice, and Research Methods for Clinical Practice amongst others. The final module is the MSc Project which involves an original research or inquiry-based study in radiographic practice.Accreditations: The MSc Diagnostic Radiography and Imaging course is approved by the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC) and the College of Radiographers. Successful graduates are thereby eligible to apply for registration with the HCPC and will gain chartered radiographer status on joining the Society of Radiographers.Future Careers: This course provides a successful route into the radiographic profession.
