The BEng (Hons) Automotive Engineering course offered by the University of Hertfordshire is designed to train the next generation of automotive engineers. The course prepares students for a challenging and rewarding career in an ever-evolving industry that provides students with the skills they need, from designing new vehicles to finding ways to improve existing technology.Course Content: In the first year, students will study engineering science, engineering applications (bench skills), CAD and quality. The second-year covers thermodynamics, fluid mechanics, solid mechanics, dynamics and statistical methods followed by optional placement year. During the final year, students will study automotive technology and vehicle systems, automotive prime movers and fuels, vehicle dynamics and safety and business operations.Key Modules: Some of the key modules include Engineering Science, Computational & CAD, Professional Development and Practices, Automotive Technology and Vehicle Systems, Vehicle Dynamics and Safety, and Material and Manufacture.Accreditations: The course is accredited by the Institution of Mechanical Engineers (IMechE) as fully meeting the academic requirement for Chartered Engineer (CEng), when presented with an accredited MSc. In addition, the course is recognised by EurIng.
