BA Hons. Journalism and Creative writing

The BA (Hons) Journalism and Creative Writing course at the University of Hertfordshire provides students with the skills to blend creative thinking with technical skills essential for a wide range of professions, specifically in journalism and creative writing industries. It is designed to stimulate and challenge intellectually curious students who have a passion for writing and aspire to make a real difference through their written work.Course Content: The course focuses on the many facets of writing, equipping students with the tools to critique their own work and that of others. It introduces students to significant texts and movements in literature with the aim of providing a wide base of understanding. Moreover, the course provides necessary journalistic skills, such as writing reviews, blogs, interviews and features, which enable construction of stories around real-world events. Key Modules: Some of the key modules included in this course are ‘Writing for Journalism’, ‘Text, Theory, and Criticism’, ‘Web and Magazine Design’, ‘Reported Writing’ and ‘TV Journalism’.
