The BA (Hons) English Language and Linguistics course at the University of Hertfordshire provides students with an in-depth understanding of how English language works, how sounds combine to form speech, how words are formed and combine to form meaning, and how conversations and texts are structured. This course allows students to incorporate training in modern foreign languages, Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages (TESOL), and British Sign Language (BSL), depending on their interest.Course Content: The course offers a wide range of specialist modules including Language in Society, Sound and Voice, Words and Meaning, Language Development and Impairment among others.
