BSc (Hons) Sports Therapy

The BSc (Hons) Sports Therapy at Staffordshire University is designed to equip students with the knowledge and practical skills necessary to become specialized in sports therapy and injury management. This handson course encourages students to combine theoretical knowledge with practical experience in both universitybased and realworld environments. Using stateoftheart equipment in our specialized human performance labs and therapy suites, students are trained to assess, treat, and manage sports and exerciserelated injuries.Course Content: The course is laid out over a period of three years. The first year helps students establish a firm foundation of understanding in anatomy and physiology, along with practical skills. As students progress, the focus shifts towards more specialized areas such as injury assessment, sports massage, rehabilitation, and the usage of hightech performance analysis equipment. The final year encourages students to conduct their research projects.Key Modules: The course comprises various modules including Functional Anatomy, Introduction to Sports Therapy Practices, Therapeutic Modalities in Sports Therapy, Sport and Exercise Rehabilitation, Advanced Sports Therapy Practices, and a dedicated Research Project.Accreditations: The BSc (Hons) Sports Therapy course is accredited by The Society of Sports Therapists (SST), which means graduates from this program can register as graduate sports therapists.Future Careers: Completion of the BSc (Hons) Sports Therapy course from Staffordshire University equips students for a range of rewarding careers including sports therapist, rehab therapist, and exercise scientist in various settings such as professional sports clubs, sports therapy clinics, fitness clubs, or selfemployment.
