Our Mechanical Engineering BEng (Hons) equips students with an integral understanding of the field of mechanical engineering, encompassing a wide range of modern industries. The course promotes a deep understanding of computeraided design, the dynamics of machines, thermodynamics, fluid dynamics, control systems, and materials and manufacturing techniques. Using our cuttingedge facilities, students will gain handson experience applying theory to realworld scenarios.Course Content: The course curriculum is designed to cover an indepth exploration of mechanical principles, computeraided design, the mechanics of materials, thermodynamics, fluid dynamics, and control systems. Students will also learn about project management, ethics, and professional development. In the final year, students will select a topic for a major individual project, carrying out research and development to create innovative solutions.Key Modules: Introduction to Mechanical Engineering: Gain basic knowledge of mechanical engineering principles and applications. Engineering Design and Workshop Technology: Gain experience with computeraided design (CAD) and workshop methods. Thermodynamics and Fluid Mechanics: Explore energy conversion and the behavior of gases and liquids at rest and in motion. Control Systems: Understand various dynamic systems and the principles and methods of control. Major Project: Take on a significant individual project in the final year, developing unique solutions to complex problems.Accreditations: The BEng (Hons) Mechanical Engineering at Staffordshire University is accredited by the Institution of Mechanical Engineers (IMechE) and fulfills the educational requirements for Chartered Engineer (CEng) status.Future Careers: Graduates of this program are wellequipped for various roles in the industry including but not limited to; mechanical engineers, project engineers, design engineers, and energy engineers. They can find employment in sectors like automotive, aerospace, energy and many more. Additionally, the skills learned in this course extend beyond engineering and can lead to careers in fields such as management or consultancy. For more information on this course, please visit the official course page here.
