BA (Hons) Social Work

The Social Work BA course, offered by Staffordshire University, is a fulltime undergraduate program intended for students interested in public service and social justice. The Legal and Social Policy Context of Social Work: Students learn how to navigate the complexities of laws related to social work and how social policies affect social work practices. Social Work Theories and Methods: In this module, students dive into the predominant theories used in social work and the methods. Direct Work with Service Users and Carers: This module guides students through the process of working directly with service users and carers, teaching skills of negotiation, communication, problemsolving and advocacy. Practice Learning Opportunity: This module provides students with handson experience through secured placements where they practice and enhance their learned skills.Accreditations: Upon completion, students are eligible for registration with Social Work England as a qualified social worker. The course is also endorsed by the College of Social Work.Future Careers: Graduates can take multiple career paths in the field of social work, public health and social care services after completing this course. Potential job roles include working as a children's social worker, adult social worker, community development worker, family support worker, counsellor, or probation officer.
