Course Overview

The MSc (Res) Palaeontology at University of Manchester is a postgraduate programme designed for postgraduate students passionate about advancing human performance. this Russell Group university offers a research-led approach to learning, with a 1-year full-time structure. Research in the Department of Earth and Environmental Sciences covers three main research themes ; earth and planetary science, environment and society, and life on earth. Research within this programme is directed towards dinosaur limb mechanics, including computer modelling of dinosaur gait, trackway formation and interpretation, including LiDAR digital mapping of sites, palaeopathology, taphonomy, and embryology. The Manchester team is also active in palaeoecological studies of dinosaur sites, the study of fossil lagerstatten in general, and in arthropod taxonomy and palaeoecology. A minimum ielts score of 6.5 is required for admission. Graduates from this programme benefit from strong career prospects, with 88% student satisfaction rating, and 76% of graduates in employment or further study.
