This integrated programme is designed to prepare and support you for a strong and rewarding experience in software and AI engineering from the moment you enrol. If you have a passion for technology, you will learn to create and innovate through software development and intelligent systems, and develop the skills to address challenges in an increasingly connected and AI-driven world. In the first year, you will build a strong foundation in the core principles that underpin computing and engineering. You will develop essential knowledge in areas such as programming, mathematics and problem-solving, alongside key academic and professional skills including communication, teamwork and independent learning. This provides a supportive transition into degree-level study and prepares you for the learning approaches used throughout the programme. As you progress, you will develop your understanding of software engineering alongside artificial intelligence, learning how to design, build and maintain modern, AI-enabled systems. You will explore areas such as system design, data-driven applications and cloud-based technologies, gaining the skills needed to develop scalable and reliable solutions. In your final year, you will focus on more advanced and applied topics, including AI engineering and cloud-based development, alongside a major individual project. This allows you to apply your knowledge to real-world problems and develop solutions that reflect current industry practices.
