Course Overview

Offered by Queen's University Belfast, the PgDip Advanced Social Work; Children, Young People and Families provides a comprehensive postgraduate education in social sciences. this Russell Group university offers a research-led approach to learning, with a 2-year part-time structure. The overarching aim of this new programme is to enable child and family social work practitioners working in a range of social care settings in both the statutory and voluntary sectors, to develop advanced knowledge and skills to enhance their practice within their current work setting. The programme will develop students’ understanding of the contemporary children’s social care environment, current themes and practice debates, including: evidence-based assessment and intervention; core and advanced systemic practice skills; effective engagement with service users (children, parents, carers... International tuition fees are £7,700 per year, home/UK fees are £6,500 per year, and a minimum IELTS score of 6.5 is required for admission.
