The Fine Art MA course at Anglia Ruskin University’s Cambridge Campus offers students an opportunity to advance their art practice in a stimulating and supportive atmosphere. The course's focus is on advancing the students' individual practice, in the context of contemporary debates around art. Course Content: The course is mainly practice-based, designed for artists looking to develop and broaden their artistic practice after graduation, with no limit to the media explored, from painting to digital and from performance to printmaking. Students will participate in art projects, and seminars and lectures that enhance the understanding of contemporary art contexts, professional engagement, theoretical debates and research, developing their critical thinking and analytical skills. Through the semester, they will regularly engage with artists, critics, curators and writers who will provide them with a series of individual tutorial sessions, complimented by group crit sessions with academics and other artists. Key Modules: Key modules include Studio Practice and Research: Fine Art, and Theoretical Perspectives: Fine Art. In the semester two, these will be replaced by the Technical and Studio Development, and Contemporary Debates modules respectively. The course concludes with the practice-based Major Project: Fine Art which will demonstrate the insights they have gained throughout the course. Future Careers: Graduates of this course might progress to a range of art-related careers, such as freelance practice, curatorial work, education, or continue to a research degree.
