The Software Engineering with Industrial Placement course at Wrexham Glyndŵr University integrates computer science and engineering principles, providing students with a deep understanding of software development, design and management processes. This course includes a sandwich placement, where students gain valuable industry experience by spending a year in a relevant job position.Course Content: During the course, students learn directly from an experienced team of tutors who are active researchers in their field. The curriculum combines practical skills with an academic framework, allowing students to gain hands-on experience while learning fundamental principles. The course covers areas like software development, analytical problem-solving, high-level design, system modelling and management. Additionally, this course encourages students to design, implement and evaluate practical software applications. Key Modules: The first two years of the course cover the core modules such as System Analysis, Design and Integration; Object-Oriented Software Engineering; and Professional Issues and Practices. In the third year, students undertake industrial placement and in the final year, students pursue modules such as Advanced Software Engineering and an Engineering Project.
