Wrexham Glyndwr University offers an undergraduate course in Computer Science that is designed to provide students with a deep understanding of how computer systems are designed and developed. Students on the course will learn how to develop software and explore cutting-edge technology, under guidance by staff who are experts in their respective fields.Course Content: The course delivers on four key themes. The first is Computer Systems, where students learn low level (hardware) and high level systems (operating systems). Software Engineering forms a second pillar, focusing on designing, developing, and testing software. In Human-Computer Interaction, emphasis will be placed on the design and understanding of user interfaces. Finally, the fourth theme, Data Analytics, offers students the chance to explore computer data and statistical analysis.Key Modules: Amongst others, key modules covered in the course include: Software Development, Computer Architecture, Operating Systems, Database Systems, Web Technologies, Cyber Security, Artificial Intelligence, and Discrete Mathematics.Accreditations: Wrexham Glyndwr University is accredited by the British Computer Society (BCS) – the Chartered Institute for IT - on behalf of the Engineering Council, which will give students the opportunity to achieve Chartered IT Professional status or incorporate Engineer status.Future Careers: Graduates from this course will be equipped for a range of careers such as: Software Developer, IT Project Manager, Network Manager, Database Administrator, User Interface Designer, Systems Analyst or roles in digital forensics and data recovery.
