The BSc Zoology with Professional Experience at the University of Reading aims to shape students into independent scientists with a strong understanding of animal biology, ecology, and evolution. The four-year course includes a professional placement year to gain real-world experience which can be carried out in the UK or overseas.Course Content: During the first year, the course offers introductory modules, including diversity of life and cells, genes and evolution. From the second year onwards, modules become more specialised, with a focus on research. In the third year, students go on a professional placement to offer practical experience and understanding of professional life. The final year includes a research project guided by a professional zoologist.Key Modules: Some key modules include Animal Form and Function, Understanding Animal Behaviour, and Biodiversity Conservation and Management.
