MSc Psychological Sciences (Conversion)

The Psychological Sciences (Conversion) MSc offered by Brunel University London is designed for people with degrees in other subjects who want to pursue a career in psychology. This course provides a comprehensive understanding of a broad range of emotional, cognitive, developmental and social psychological areas. It also covers the fundamentals of research methodology, qualitative and quantitative analyses. It gives students an accelerated route into the area of psychology as it is recognized by the British Psychological Society (BPS) and provides the prerequisites for doing professional training in psychology.Course Content: This course is composed of eight modules and a dissertation. This course delves into experimental research methods, psychological investigations, understanding statistical research, lifespan development, cognitive and biological psychology, among others. It ends with a Dissertation or "Applied Project", where students get a chance to show off their research skills and knowledge on a topic of their choice.Key Modules: Some of the key modules include Cognitive Psychology, Biological Psychology, Conceptual and Historical Issues in Psychology, Personality and Individual Differences, Lifespan Development, Research Methods in Psychological Science and Dissertation or Applied Project.Accreditations: This course is accredited by the British Psychological Society (BPS) which is the representative body for psychology and psychologists in the UK. Completion of this course confers eligibility for Graduate Basis for Chartered Membership with the BPS.Future Careers: This course allows students to pursue careers in various fields including clinical psychology, educational psychology, occupational psychology, and research roles in healthcare settings.
