BSc Politics and History

The Politics and History BSc course at Brunel University London is a three-year full-time course which combines an understanding of political ideas, institutions, and processes with an understanding of historical events, changes, and continuities. Through this integrated approach, students gain a comprehensive understanding of the political forces that shape the modern world and historical contexts that informed them.Course Content: Students will gain knowledge about how politics and international relations, history and culture interplay today. They learn about key political ideas, institutions and processes and an understanding of the historical forces and events that have shaped the present day. They will also gain hands-on experience on conducting archival research.Key Modules: Some core modules encompass Politics, Power and Ethics, Revolution and Modernity, Renaissance Reformation and Early Modern Europe, Comparative Politics, and the Citizen and the State. Optional modules options include Understanding WWII from eyewitnesess, Applied Digital Historical Cultures, Global Current Affairs, and many more across the years of study.Accreditations: This course is recognized by the Joint Negotiating Committee for Youth and Community Workers for the purpose of professional qualification.Future Careers: Graduates can pursue roles in international organisations, business, finance, government, civil service, journalism, and teaching.
