BA Games Design and Creative Writing

The Games Design and Creative Writing BA is a unique dual degree course offered by Brunel University London. This course aims to guide students in the development of their video game design and creative writing skills. The course is designed to foster both individual creativity and technical development, preparing students for a bright future in both the creative writing and video gaming industries.Course Content: The course runs for three years with full-time study. Year 1 is designed to offer students a solid foundation in both disciplines, strengthening their basic skills. In Year 2, students further refine their game design and creative writing skills. Year 3 focuses on implementation and exhibits - allowing students to showcase their combined technical and creative skills. Each year of the course also includes an option for a work placement.Key Modules: Key modules emphasising game design include Creative Visualisation and Production, Physical Computing and Play, Games Studies, and Final Year Game Project. Those highlighting creative writing include Creativity, Writing 1 & 2, Children's Literature and Advanced Writing Workshop.Future Careers: The course will prepare students for game design, narrative designing, level designing, and project management positions in the video gaming industry.
