  • Description

The BEng (Hons) Electronic Engineering with Nanotechnology programme at the University of Surrey is a full-time course that delves into the fascinating world of nanotechnology. This multidisciplinary course combines electronic engineering’s traditional agenda with the exciting prospect of working with nanoscale structures, taught over three academic years.

Course Content: The course is a blend of theoretical knowledge and practical sessions to give students hands-on experience right from the first year of study. The course has modules that deal with topics ranging from communication systems, programming, computing for engineers, digital electronics to electronic circuits during the first year. As students progress, they dive deeper into nanotechnology concepts, semiconductor devices, and smart systems.

Key Modules: Some of the key modules of this course include Electrical Principles, Electronic Systems and Design, Nanomaterials, Quantum Engineering, Device Technology, Electron Microscopy and Analysis, Thin Film Technologies, Nanoelectronics and devices.

Accreditations: The course is accredited by the Institution of Engineering and Technology (IET) on behalf of the Engineering Council for the purposes of fully meeting the academic requirement for registration as an Incorporated Engineer and partly meeting the academic requirement for registration as a Chartered Engineer.

Future Careers: This course opens up numerous career opportunities for graduates in a range of industries including electronics, information technology, telecommunications, and the energy sector. Graduates will be equipped with skills that allow them to move into areas such as technology management, research, or further postgraduate study.
