The Early Childhood studies at UWE Bristol is a multifaceted course focused on children's learning and development from birth to eight years. This course is designed to understand the importance of early childhood and feature high-quality work placements you can use to build up experience and strengthen your CV. It provides the required knowledge to become a confident, innovative early years professional, committed to delivering excellent education.Course Content: This course explores areas like psychology, sociology, education, health, and social policy. You'll learn about children's health and wellbeing, investigate issues like poverty and social justice, and explore how children learn and develop. You will also have the opportunity to present your project at our Student Conference. Key Modules: The course mainly includes modules such as Early Childhood in Context; Play and Creativity in Learning; An Introduction to Philosophies, Theories, and Approaches in Early Childhood; Professional Skills and Working with Children, Young People and Families; and Developing the Reflective Practitioner among others. Accreditations: Upon successful completion of the course, students will be recognized as Early Childhood Graduate Practitioner Competencies (ECGPC) by the Early Childhood Studies Degree Network (ECSDN). The course also meets full and relevant criteria, allowing you to be counted in staff: child ratios in early years settings. Future Careers: After the completion of this course, you can work in a range of early years settings, including nurseries, children’s hospitals, and children’s charities.
