  • Description

The MEng (Hons) Aerospace Engineering program at Teesside University offers a fascinating stance on the study of aircraft and spacecraft. This program combines meticulous engineering principles with innovative developments in technology, and combines the study of aerodynamic characteristics of aircraft and construction materials, alongside general areas of study in engineering.

Course Content: This course sheds light on multiple facets of Aerospace Engineering which includes a robust understanding of engineering principles, meticulous study of aerodynamic characteristics of the aircraft and spacecraft, their powerplants, and their internal systems. It places a great emphasis on practical work. To maximize learning, the course includes a major project during the final year where most of the theoretical knowledge is put into practical application.

Key Modules: Key modules in this course are Aerospace Structures and Materials, Engineering Applications of Computational Methods, Engineering Science, Avionic Systems, Advanced Propulsion Systems, Systems Safety and Aerospace Vehicle Design.

Accreditations: The program is accredited by the Institution of Mechanical Engineers (IMechE) on behalf of the Engineering Council for the purposes of fully meeting the academic requirement for registration as a Chartered Engineer.

Future Careers: By undertaking this course, students can pursue a range of careers in aviation-related industries such as working on the design and manufacture of aircraft and spacecraft, the airlines, and the armed forces. Other career options include engineering, manufacture, and system information engineering, and graduates could also progress onto PhD study.
